Coastal biomass, turned into useful things.
Brisa Haal is a marine research company. We collect, study, and process plant biomass that washes up on Caribbean and Gulf coastlines. We turn that material into bio-based products, and we measure the work as we go — for our partners, for the ecosystems we work in, and for the people who live there.

Four stages, repeatable loop.

STAGE 01
Field Research
Site assessment and field operations at coastal locations.
What happens: We survey collection sites, characterize the material, and document the conditions in which it was found.
Where: Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico coastlines.

STAGE 02
Sample Preparation
Cleaning, drying, and characterization of collected materials.
What happens: Raw material is cleaned, dried, ground, and analyzed in our lab to establish a baseline for downstream work.

Process Development
Iterative testing of conversion protocols in our lab.
What happens: We run small-scale experiments to test how different conditions affect yield, purity, and process time.

Scale-Up
Optimization and pilot-scale trials of lead processes.
What happens: Promising lab processes move to pilot scale, where we test throughput, repeatability, and economics.
